Gary Himes
AMA 343230

Gary has served as Northern Knights Treasurer since 1992.  He has been a Northern Knights member since mid 1989 when Bob Cameron taught Gary to fly.  By the way, Bob was the former treasurer of the club.  Gary has flown planes from R/C .049’s to ¼ scale gas planes and even dabbled in the electric’s just a little bit.  He likes scratch building, when the time allows and even designed his own plane called The Foulstik.  The name was derived since the wing is basically a Big Stick and the horizontal is patterned after a Falcon 56.  Gary lately has been doing some Combat, using Cartman as his call sign.  He must be getting serious as he joined the RCCA in 2001. (RCCA is the AMA SIG for combat)  You can find Gary at the flying field just about any nice weekend year round and even some not so nice weekends.

Gary also wanted to mention his wife Denise.  Boy is she understanding!  The whole basement is dedicated to model aircraft except for the little area where they park their cars.  Denise has been known, on numerous occasions, to bring full course home cooked meals to the field for all the flyers to enjoy!  Nothing is better than a great day’s flyin' with a home cooked meal at the field!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
