Rick was elected to the office of President for the year starting 2002. Rick has been a member of the Northern Knights only since 1999. Although Rick has flown only for a short period of time, he is a very accomplished flyer. He also joined the hard core flyer group, as Rick is at the field 99% of the weekends of the year, no matter what the weather. Like most of us, Rick started flying control line at the young age of 8. He flew control line till the age of 15 when cars, girls and working became more important than flying. Rick was a spectator at our Frozen Thumb Fly on Jan 1, 1999. The next day the local hobby shop was open, Rick purchased his first R/C Trainer and has been hooked ever since. After Rick soloed, he immediately had to train his oldest daughter Keri. She is also now soloed and probably out flying the ole-man. Rick joined the Northern Knights because it is close to his work and he can stop by the field after work to fly and get his daily dose of harassment. He is also an avid combater, flying a SPAD to do the dirty work. Ricks favorite airplane is his Dragon Lady 60. He is migrating toward the bigger aircraft, claiming as he approaches the half century mark that his eyesight isn’t what it used to be. His future goal is to have nothing less than an 8 foot wingspan, excepting his combater (of course). Welcome aboard Rick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | ||
